things amongst them, but we have all if them,also a
little more,  they believe Scripture writings, O& we do also, &
in revelation let us not then say that Brother Brigham
has not revelation. Elder O.Hyde then spoke upon the
good influence at the head of the Church reaching to the
other branches & so forth. Spoke of the Authorities, quorums,
&^c, not to extol or exalt themselves one above another, for
all will be in splendor & stand forth in bold relief in due
time if he endures as a good Soldier, & he will receive  his
reward. The first presidency represents the God head. The
President and his councillors, one on the right & the other
on the left hand. The different Authorities are the repre=
=sentatives one of the other, they hear the words one of
another, and he who hears the words of the first presi=
dency, heard the Word of God. The representation is carried
down through the different quorums from one to another.
It all comes from one Spirit, the root of David. That grade
of Authority that gets jealous, will dry up and not have
the   Spirit. I dont speak thinking you have need of
reproof, but to stir you up by way of remembrance, and
desirous you should retain it. Are we not slow to call
upon God in the time of our prosperity  and more ready
to go to our daily labour than to call upon God in the Morn=
=ing, for I feel there is great lack of duty amongst us. I
dont wish revenge or ill will shown towards those who
may have injured us, let them pass on in peace, and
leave the result to God. I dont intend to go against the
Authorities of the Church, but if I am honorably Sustained
here, I will endeavour to prevent any Organization being
made here, that will not be for our good. Elder Harloe
Redfield said, we have a good Spirit amongst us, & I
dislike bickerings, and such always takes place before
we have been scourged. If we are not united we cannot
stand, & nothing gives me more pleasure, than to see us
united as a people. He gave much more good & powerful
