was received into the quorum. Moses  Clawson, Isaac Clarke,
& Silas Richards to have recommends. The Clerk of this quo=
=rum to have twenty five Cents for each recommend. sung a
Hymn.. dismissed by Aaron Johnson.

 Sunday July 7th 1849. In consequence of a two day
meeting held at the Tabernacle upon this & the preceding
day, the quorum meeting stands over until the 5th day
of August next.

Sunday August 5th 1849. The High Priests quorum met at
the usual time & place. Singing by the Choir. Elder O. Hyde
(in the absence of the Presdt) spoke as follows. Concert of action
in necessary. Our heavenly father devised a plan, there is no
disparity between him & the Son. It is the province of the father
to devise plans, & we to be one with Christ as he is one with
the Father. All kinds of Spirits are here, & if one is not made
manifest to day, it will be some time, what is wrong and
concealed will come to light, if we dont try to guard against
a wrong Spirit. Rather be judged by God than man, for man
is liable to error. We read, '' God shall judge all flesh.'' He has
laid the principle. Power to do so is committed to man, and
man & every part of him is Gods, & he is the father of our
Spirits. We are trying each other, & it tends to purifying
the whole lump. The almighty has organized his kingdom,
shall others step in to judge us? The Saints shall judge the
World. Our destinies are committed to ourselves. Men choose
others to rule over them according their spirit. Water
standing staynates. Running water purifies. So are we in
to be reproved, such is more liable to condemnation, & he
who strives to put himself from the reach of God will
