just have the labours of his hands, others may have ten fold,
& this prosper & be proved. Quoted job. When I was a lad &
done wrong, & was chastened I felt grieved, after I got over it,
felt well. Bear chastisement, it will yield the beautiful
fruits if righteousness. When one moves or bows in celestial
places, all do so. Let is act in unison in all things. One may
do wrong, we are liable to err. Man may have done wrong,
& those who are not his friends may then pounce upon him.
It is not right to do wrong. God will not cast off a man in Autho=
=rity for committing a wrong, if done in advertently; at this
time Jehovah will sustain him. Paul said, ''when I am weak
then I am strong.'' Geo A. Smith told us to act in unison. It is
lawful for me to do that which tends to good. Religion is
every thing.I'll tell the brethren what to do. come to the election
tomorrow, we want the best, Men to rule over us. I will tell
the people to all come & vote, & that as they please. I'll not
tell how you'll vote, but I'll vote, & want you all to vote, better
do that than stay in the harvest field, bring your friends
with you & come all, & you may see the good of it hear after.
It was then signified by an unanimous vote of a large
Congregation then present, that Thomas Guymon be one of
the Councillors of the President of this quorum, in accordance
with the vote taken at the general conference held at Mus=
=quito in October 1848. After singing, & prayer by Thomas
Guymon, the meeting was adjourned for an hour.
Met again, reading of minutes to stand until the next
meeting. After some observations by the President, it was
carried that George Garner by ordained a High priest. Wm
booth was presented for ordination, where upon Elder Hyde
made some remarks on the propriety & impropriety of
ordaining men high Priests who never have had any ordi=
= nation, when others who have had, are outstanding. The
Presidt spoke upon the Bishops not having properly
Organized the lesser Priesthood. Elder O. Hyde said if men
were in years & nigh unto death, or required to be ordained,
to
