3rd witness Nancy Maria Avery, testified that Bro. Hatch had
abused her mother, in taring her Petticote from her,
she had heard Bro H. damn and God damn her mother
heard him say, her mother belonged to another man
and if he knew she did he would be the death of
the man,, heard him day he carred nothing for the
council,  heard wish old man Harris ,damned  in
hell, heard him say he had writen and advertisement
to sell his cattle and would go east,, said she slept
in the same room with them, said they were both
in bed when the petticote scrape took place,, she
heard him say he would hang himself,, said he would
have done it the last night of the winter conference
had he of had a pair to have written his will..
4th  witness Samuel Henderson said all the complaint
sister Hatch made to him against Bro. Hatch was
his abuse in wanting to use her against the laws
of God and nature,, said her situation was she had
been in a family way and she  had lost it, and she had
been very weakly all winter, said brother Hatch
confessed to him he had abused her,, he did not
know that the children had any disagreements.. He tho't
the old gentleman was angry the other day &c..
    Pres. Geo A. Smith made some remarks showing
that the difficulty arose from a spirit of Jealousy, and
that it would still exist in the family if they try to
live togather so long as there was a gray hair on
either of their heads..
     Counselor Draper moved that the council decide
what he done by the parties,, carried..
     Counselor Draper moved that Bro. Hatch return
all the things he received with her,, and furnish
her a comfortable cabin for six months, and pay her
forty dollars in property, as follows, (to wit) one good
cow, three hundred weight of good pork, one hund-
red weight of good flour, twenty bushels of good
corm, and the rest in groceries &c,, carried..
