for Ordination unto the high Priesthood, and  sever=  =ally approved of by an unanimous  vote, and were all
Ordained accordingly. It was then carried by a like vote,
that Lyman Stoddard, James Alred, and George Coulson,
be a Committee to draft the business requisite to be presented
before the general Conference upon the 6th day of Oct- next,
in order that same may be laid before the High Counsel
for their action. The meeting was then adjourned until
the first Sunday in November next, at the same place, and usual hour.

Sunday Novr 3rd 1850. In consequence of the ill health
of Elder Lyman Stoddard, & the absence from home of
his councilors, and the Hon A. W. Babbitt, the represent=
=tative to Congress from the Stat of Deseret, (to wit; Elder
Babbitt) having been invited so to do, preached to a very
large Congregation them present, and as it did not appear
that there was any urgent quorum business, Elder Zebedee
Coltrim give public notice that the meeting of the quorum
would stand adjourned until the first Sabbath,(the
first day) of December next, at the same hour and place.

Sunday Decr 1st 1850. The quorum of High Priests met
at the music Hall at ten oClock a m, but stood over un=
=til after the general Church meeting would be got through
with, as Elder O/ Hyde was present and had many things
to lay before the Church generally. After dismissal of that
meeting the quorum went into business. Elder Stoddard,
stated that  some complained for not having the priviledge
of being absent of three months in succession, without
being called to assign a reason for it, and he thinks that
those who desire to so absent themselves must be somewhat
destitute of the Spirit of God. It is grievous to me that  men
