5 Wit- B. B. Messenger- have heard father harris make
remarks relative to the famine as the other But- have
spoken- also that there is no Prophet &c- that within
five or ten years they would come back faster than
they went- The Plaintiff being thro' with witnesses-
Prest Geo. W. Harris asked the privilege to prove his
Character- Bro. Benson said that as his character
we have nothing against[=] acknoweldge his moral
character good- Bro. Harris said he wanted to show
his character &c Bro. Little said he objected as we had
not called Bro. H-here on that ground & it was irrelevant
and would tend to confuse the minds of the Council &c-
