B-
3 Witness F. Coltrin- he heard Bro. Harris say that it
was necessary for some to go over the mountains
that they might be scourged, that was not necessary
for those to go who did not need scourging &c-
also said that the church was now in the time
when the church was suffering a famine as we
had no Prophet, but the time would come when
there would be a prophet &c never councilled
me not to go - &c--
4 Wit Jacob Stiles- said he never had heard Bro Harris
say any thing against going to the Valley but
other wise that it was proper to go &c. he had
heard him say frequently that B. Y. was the
proper head of the church &c- That Prest O. H.
was the proper Prest. of the Twelve &c
He had heard him say that it was proper
for all to go to the Valley that could but that it look
ed dubious for all to go- heard him say that he
would go the the Valley himself if his family were here
several questions not pertinent to the case-
5 Wt. A. Palmer- he had heard him use language that
infered that we were in a time of famine &c- that
he said that Joseph did in transgression &c- I gathered
from your remarks that B. Y. was the legally constituted
person to lead the church as a man not as a Prophet--
6 Wt T. Mc Kenzie- said I must be careful how I persacuted
father butler- said we were without revelation &c he said that B. Y. did not pretend to have the word
of the Lord-
