Councillor Geo. Coulson asked if Bro Dibble had
any authority from the Valley to make or witness
covenants. Bro Dibble said as to any authority I have
none. Bro Cunninghim asked me if there was any sealing
powers left here. I told him no: but he had a right to make
a covenant & take a woman with him to the Valley and if
there was any wrong about it, that would be right there,
That writing was presented to me and I witnessed it
as you see-- I doubted the propriety of it, and if I had went
according to my feelings, I should not have done it, I was sorry
afterwards I had done it-- Still when I looked on the other side
of it, I could see no harm in it---Councillor Coulson said
the witness was before the Council that Bro. Dibble was
willing to ride to the Valley on the prostrate a wreck of
female virtue, he is not worthy of holding the Eternal
Priest Hood of God; and he ought to lay  it down-- he is
pursueing a course- not only to drain the field from
the goers and the public, but also from the Brethren,
to sustain himself in Idleness and lazing---
PresO. Hyde said it is distiuetly understood by all that
no one here had any right, to make or lately any sealing
covenant-- It could not be done this side of t he Valley--
this no one is mistaken in. Bro. Dibble replied he wanted
to do about right, he might miss it a little like his brethren--
but he was not serving with eye service,he knew what he
was about, he was not affraid  of his brethren here or in the
Valley either, I mean I am not afraid to be tried by my
brethren here or in the Valley either---Councillor Coulson
said I believe you will make me do all the talking today-
Spoke quite lengthy on the evils of speculation, dissipation &
Prest O. Hyde said I counselled, to  cultivate the soil
extensively- to sow all the wheat they could: and I set the
example myself--- went to work---sowed 20 acres- it alarm-
ed some of the brethren-- Bro Hyde was going t apostatise- But
bye the bye the gold diggers came along. I sold the flour at
$ 7 for 100 lb
