Prayer by B. F. Bird.. Some appropriate remarks by the president..
The clerk then read the minutes of the former council,,many remarks
by different ones of the counselors being ordained.. Counselor William Snow proposed the propority
of the counselors being ordained,, Remarks by the president and others of the
council the idea was refered to pres. Geo. A. Smith who it was expected
would be present on our next sitting.. The council was them called to
order and arranged for business.. The case of William Bird was brought
forward he being.present,, who had been arrested on the twenty sixth
day of Dec. 1847,, under charge of Stealing Stutely E. Wicks' horse and gave
Bonds for his appearance before the High Council for trial as follows,
(To Wit) We jointly and sureraly bind ourselves under the penal
sum of one hundred dollars, for the appearance of William Bird
before the High Council of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day
Saint,, to answer to the charge of Stealing Stutely E. Wicks' horse,, to
appear tomorrow morning at 10 ocl. at the Council House near Bro.
S. Richards.. This 26th day of Dec. 1847.. Charles Bird

The Bond was then Renewed as follows ( To Wit)
We jointly and severaly bind ourselves under the
penal sum of three hundred dollars for the appearance of William
Bird before the High Council of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day
Saints to answer to the charge of Stealing Stutey E. Wicks' horse, to
appear the 1st say of Jan. 1848 to appear at the Council House of
the Church at 10 ocl. A. M. this 27 say of Dec. 1847..

Said William Bird had confessed the stealing of the
horse and had been and made satisfaction to Wicks' and
was now brought before the Council to satisfy the council.
