The council decided, they had a right to act on the case,, It was then
moved and recorded that Joseph Warthon be cut off from the church
carried be a unamimious vote..

A Special council was called at the house of Bro. Silas Richards..
Present Jas. Alred 1- the place pf Ira Oviatt 2-filled by David F ulmer-
 W.G. Perkins 3- Wm Draper 4- WSnow 5- was filled by Jerome Benson-A.H.Perkins-6
E. M. Greene 7- L. Stoddard 8- Benj. F. Bird 9- was filled by Silas Richards--
H. W. Miller 10-N. L. Bulkley 11- H. Hyde-12-a case was presented .. Robert
King was accused of stealing a blanket belonging to Andrus J. Sturat  and of
having a coat made of it and having it on.. Bro. LStuart was called
for he came and described his blanket which he had lost and he and
several of the counselor enaminese the cast,, the Blanket was described
as being a red blanket- 2 points,, having some spots where the color was
turned nearly purple from being wet  with a babe,, the coat was decided
on examination to have been made out of the said blanket..Sister Stuart
was then called into the room to describe the blanket which agreed with
the description of her husband,, Bro. Pollock  & Sister Pollock sucessively called
in gave the same description.. King appeared much aggitated but denied
stealing the blanket said he prove he had the blanket before he was at
Bro Sruarts,, but wanted to know if there were any other marks about the blanket
that would be notice sister Stuart said there was some small hole that had
probably been burned in and that showed themselves when she washed it..
King denied there being any holes in the blanket,, but on another search
they were found visible in the lower part of the skirt.. The council decided
the blanket to be brother Stuarts and decided that King should restore four
fold,, being left in the Marshal's hands until he settled it he soon came forward
and confessed his transgression,, and then went off with the marshall to
turn out property to settle the bill..

Warrent to the marshall,,Tory Thurston you are here by commanded to keep
the person of Robert King in custody until he shall pay A. J. Stuart then dollars
it being the decission of the High Council this 28 day of Dec. 28.1847
