Met of the High Persuante to adjournment

were absent.. The clerk read the minutes of the
last Council and they were accepted..
   Councillors J. M. Benson H. W. Miller & Wm Snow made
their excuses were accepted..
    Councillor Lyman Stoddard spake of the Indians now
in town they were a squad of Souix that were going down
to hold a treaty with the Omahas and wanted to get a
 committee to go with them.. Various suggestions by the
Councillors,, Bro. Seovil came in and by vote of the
Council was called upon to give a statement of their
the motives of these  Indians..  Bro. Seovil said as
he came down from from  Terryville the interpreter
rode down with him; said the interpreter stated
that the two chiefs had come down as represent-
tives of the whole Souix nation to make overture
of peace with the Omahas if procticable..
    The Council was opposed to send a Committee
with them, or of having anything to do there with
     Councillor Aaron John wished to hear from
Councillor L. Stoddard that he might know what
will be done towards the Tabernacle..
     Councillor J. G. Bigler being sent for to attend as a
witness at the Benson Tabernacle was excused from the council
and withdrew.. After some remarks from various ones
of the Councillors.

     On motion the Council adjourned 1 week to meet at
2 ocl. P. M. at this place               E. M. Greene

George Coulson, Aaron Johnson, Lyman Stoddard when the
