The report was satisfactory and in general good
feelings were manifested by the brethren..
On motion the report was accepted..
Some remarks followed relative to the former vote
Bro Robert Campbell presented a petition from
many citizens requesting a permition for a ball in the
Tabernacle in order to obtain means to further on the
building or repareing of the Tabernacle.. Many and various
oppinions were brought forth and various suggestion made
Councillor George Coulson said he was willing that
this Council selling indulgencies,, he was willing that
a Commitee be appointed,and a ticket got up under
the direction of Bishop Aaron Johnson, and the
money paid into the hands of the Bishop , to be
conducted to be conducted at future period
when the house is finished,, he felt that it is not safe
neither is it a fit time, while so many of of our friends
and brethren are sick,, he felt it would be better
for the house to be opened for a prayer meetings and let
them pay their fifty cents, and then pray there for the
recovery of their friends who are sick..
Councillor Geo. Coulson moved that a committee be
appointed by this council to conduct a ball to be held
as many evenings as the committee shall deem
Expedient, and as many tickets many tickets as is
necessary shall be sold, at an amount designated
by said committee.. Motion Carried..
On notion, Aaron Johnson, Alexander Mc Rae
and E. M. Greene were appointed said committee
On motion the conference ground was designated
in Kanesville..
Bishop Aaron Johnson made some remarks
relative to the Tabernacle, and also the store
house, and gave a full statement of the business
of the Late ball..
On motion the Council adjourned 1 week at 2 ocl-
P. M. at this place..
