Case of Mary E. Earl, NO. 3409.
On this 6 day of October, 1888, at
Silver Reef, Couonty of Washington, Territory
State of Utah , before me, E P Halstead, a
Speical Examiner of the Pension office, personally appeared Rebecca
Taylor, who, being by me first duly sworn to answer
truly all interregatories propounded to her during this Speical Examination of aforesaid
penison claim, deposed and says: that she is 32 years old
occupation, housekeeping, residence
and post office address,Silver Reef,
Utah; that she had known the claimant
about twelve years; that she was then
a widow the soldier having died before
de------ was acquainted with claimant
that she believes the claimant has not
remarried since her aquainance
with her; that she has lived with
her daughter and son and Mr. G.
B. Smith has lived with them; that she
had been the house leeper of said
Smith, has done his work; that
she does not know as she has lived
and cohabited with him as his wife,
seh cannot testify as to that; that she
is not recognized as  his wife but
as Mrs. Earl; that she does not know
of her being before the grand jury; that she
is not related to claimant and
has not interest in her claim for
pension
