    Present of the counselors Jas. Alred, H. Hyde,
N. L Bulkley, Lyman Stoddard, Geo. Coulson, H W. Miller,
Ira Oviatt, Wm Snow,   Prayer by N. L. Bulkley..
        In consequences of damaged having been committed
by unruly Cattle the subject came before the council
after some appropriate remarks on the subject be several
of the counselors,
   The following ordinance was passed (to Wit)
   It is here by ordered by this council that any unruly
Cattle, that id known to be such and runs at large after the
twenty fith day of August isn't without being sufficiently
hampered shall be liable to be taken up be delivered to
such person as shall here after be appointed, to receive the
same in each branch on this side of the river,, The
owner of such cattle or creative shall pay fifty cents per
head for each creature so taken up one half of said
fine shall be paid to the keeper of such Cattle,and the
other half to the Bishop of such branch where the damage is done for the benefit of the  poor..
       It is further ordered that if such cattle shall
be found in Mischief the owner of such Cattle shall be liable for  all damage..                                                                  It is further ordered that three men be appointed in          
each branch to view fines and apprise damages,, and said
Cattle shall be held in custody for the security of all such
damages.. It is further ordered by this council that all
Cattle there taken up be reported imediately to the owner,
and if not settled for within three days they shall then
be advestised seven days, and then sold by the marshal
to the higest bider, and the over plus, after the charged are
taken out shall be paid to the owner of said Cattle..
  The case of Daniel Shearse and Thurston Simpson was then
taken up, Chase Bird  Jno. M. Stewart and Ruben W. Alred and Wm Draper
