There was no spirit of confession but of gratification was manifest in him..
The vote was called and he was cut off from
the church, none but Peter Haws voting against it..
Pres. O. Hyde offered a few remarks on this subject,
and then spake upon the request of Peter Haws
to call together the Council of 50. said he did
not feel himself at liberty to do so, the said
Council having been adjourned senidie from
Winter Quarters, and to be at the call for the
first Presidency in the Valley..
Bro L. Woodworth, said as to the talk between
Bro Hyde & Bro Haws he did not know,, and
he did not want to talk much, as he did not
know to whom he would be talking, said knew
to whom he could talk when he could see them..
He did not feel to say much, he did not make
many claims, then were some places where
he had claims but they were personal or
mostly so..
Peter Haws said he was to much after the
pattern of the man that had just spoken
said he was iritable , he had told several
members of that quorum he see if they could
not be called together, he knew it was the
privilege, and their indispensible duty to
assemble and counusel together for the well fare
of this people.. However others might feel it
was not their prerogative to call them together
he did not feel so.. I know & testify before
God and angles if this Council were convened
it would be a benefit to this people,, he spoke
I speak the sentiments of my heart, I fear
no man, I fear God all the day long and
the might,, I know that an investigation before
that Council would be of advantage to
Bro Hyde and myself..
