upon Bro. Kelly to state where my claim was
and where the line run it was with good feelings;
when I pointed out the line he called me a God-
damned liar, and struck me a blow that knocked
me down..
     Bro. Joseph Kelly said, I was preparing to go down
to Misouri, and wanted to fence in my yard before I
went. and early in the morning while I ^was getting my

very hastily, and said what are you doing here, I
said I was going to fence up my yard, he said well dont
join my fence- I said I was going to run up my fence
to the corner-He observed if you do I will throw it down
     I said I do not caleulate to join yours, I explained

I liar. I then told him to go out.. He then struck
at me twice and I parried of the blows, I then
struck him with the heal of my hand, my
fingers being sore, and there I jerked and he
fell down,, and I kep^t him, down, He called for
Durfee- I jammed him down to the ground three
times-He said let me go-He got up and
struck me again I then struck three times
with my boot.. I deny taking the name of the Lord
in vain.. Brethren of that I am not guilty, and when
I find I have done wrong I feel like a tellowed rag. Bro-
Joseph Young bro't the charges to me and I [=====] them
 I told him I did not feel like having the thing
bro't before a community of men, but before a Bishop
court, or before the High Council and that would be
a decision of the matter, Bro. Joseph Young and
James Snow and myself went to Bro. Meacham
together, and we made explainations relative to the
fence and the standing line.. I never calculated
to interrupt Bro. Meacham stack- We have neighbored
together and I am willing to let things pass..
