John Hammond, Isaiah Hamblin, John Egbert, Saml L. Payne, &
David Norton were then voted in for Ordination, & John Hammond,
Isaiah Hamblin, & David Norton were then, Ordained. John Egbert
& Saml L. Payne to be ordained at their places of residence, or in the
branches to which they belong, and a return there of to be made to
the clerk. It was then stated by the presidt that the members of
this quorum who require Licences shall apply to the Clerk there for.
Adjourned, to meet at the same hour and place upon the first
Sunday in March next.- William Snow, President.

Sunday March 5th 1848. Eleven O clock a m.
the quorum of high Priests met agreeable to adjournment, Prest
Snow called the House to order, (George A. Smith one of the 12 being
present, ) A hymn was sung. Prayer by Alexa Williams. Sung a
hymn. Prest Snow stated that this quorum had an appointment
for this time, that the Elders quorum has an appointment also,
& the people were invited to attend generally, he stated, he has a
wish that every man night rese in Ordination, but does not desire
to hasten them, for all callings in the ministry are alike honorable,
& so forth. Elder Green then stated the course taken by Elder Benjn
Walohon, & recommended that he by ordained into this quorum.
Elder Clarke Prest of the Elders quorum then expressed his absent
there to, & it was then carried by an unanimous vote, & there upon.
Elders Clouson & Williams ordained him to the high Priesthood, & he
became a member of this quorum. The Prest then made observa=
=tions disapproving of ordaining young men to this priesthood, in
order to qualify them to act as Councillors, or even Presidents in small
branches. Elder Geo A. Smith sanctioned the remarks of the Presdt.
Presdt Snow then enquired whether there be any high Priests in
this neighbourhood who have not as yet joined this quorum,
& wished such to report their names from time to time.

G. Bigler & Geo A. Smith (one to the 12) were received into the
quorum by vote. It was then moved by James Alred, & put to vote
