Log Tabernacle, Blockhouse branch, Sunday January
2nd 1848, ten oClock am.
The High Priests Quorum assembled pursuant to noti-
fication, and William Snow (who was previously appointed
President of this quorum at the last general Conference)
called the meeting to order, which was opened by prayer,
and immediately commenced to reorganize the Quorum.
Alexander Williams and Moses Clawson, his Councillors, were
present. Whereupon James Sloan was nominated for to be
the Clerk for this quorum, and the same being moved and
seconded, James Sloan made some remarks relative thereto,
and the question being put, he was elected by an unanimous
vote. The names and places of residence of the members
of this quorum who reside in this region of country were then
taken, so far as they could be ascertained, and are recorded
accordingly in the general record of names, latter part of
this Book. Joseph L. Lish was then ordained a High
Priest agreeable to a vote first taken of the quorum, & he
was added to the quorum. It was then adopted by vote
that this quorum shall meet in future at this Tabernacle,
at the hour of eleven oClock am, upon the first Sabbath
in every month, and the meeting was adjourned accor-
dingly.
James Sloan, Clerk. William Snow, President.
Sunday February 6th 1848. Eleven OClock am.
The quorum of High Priests met according to adjournment, &
was called to order by President Snow, and after a hymn was sung,
he opened the meeting by prayer. He then stated that he did not
know of any particular business to be done, unless some persons who
have applied for Ordination, not any of whom he is acquainted
with, and as the quorum of Seventies, and of Elders, were to
meet here this day also, likewise, as Presdt Brigham Young was now
present for to instruct us all, this meeting will not be protracted.
