Remarks from several of the
Councillors, and the council advised
Bro. Morris to try to settle the difficulty
between themselves,, or by arbitrations
and dismissed that subject from the
Council.. The house was then cleared
of all that did not belong to the
Council, and the clerk read the minutes
of the preceeding Council, and they Council,and they
were accepted. Bro. Harlow Redfield was
called to take the place of Councillor Ira
Oviatt..
Bro. William A. Beebee came forward
and stated that Bro. O. M. Allen had informed
him that Hiram Bostwick was able to
go on a hunt the monday succieding the
the council day that he was notifyed to attend
here.. It was proposed to lay it over as Bro. Bostw-
-ick was not present.. Councillor Coulson
opposed the laying it over for certain reasons..
The Council called for a statement of
the case.. Bro. Beebee gave a statement, and
then Councillor Coulson moved that it be paid
over two weeks and the clerk be instructed
to write Brostwick a notice.. The motion carried
in the affimative.. The clerk wrote the notice..
Bro. William Morgan, President of the Welch Branch
said there was a difficulty existed between
the Welch Branch and Bro. William D. Lewis, that
said Lewis had been disfellowship by the Welch
Branch, and that said Lewis had then been
received by the Centerville Branch and put
forward to preach by that Branch..
