     Remarks from Prest O. Hyde and Bigler and others, and
gave notice of a cancas to appoint delegates to attend
convention.. Bishop Lane gave notice that he was
going north on monday next and wanted help to go up-
      On motion the Council adjourned one week
to meet at 11 oclock A.M.

     Former minutes read and accepted.
      Prest. O. Hyde spake of the situation of bro. Staddard
and the appointing some one to fill his place, said they
might now put their hands and seal upon some one , said
he should here after object to any one bearing a responsible
station in either in the church or state going off to the
Valley and bring leaving their places vacant as there
are many difficulties attending such vacancies, and called
forth many feelings and perplexities in business & he then
called on the Council to nominate one to fill that place,after
some suggestions, and various names proposed, Elder O Hyde
nominated James C. Snow to fill that place, as a traveling
president among the branches, and to fill the place of Lyman
Stoddard in the High Council.. The nomination was approved
by the Council and house by a unaminous vote..
    Elder Hyde proposed to the council to send out some
elders into the world.. The Council sanctioned the idea,, remarks
from Elder Hyde on reports &c,, and suggested that such persons

as have friends whom they wish to visit, and cant go to
the Valey, received: credentials to go and preach, [======]
that Elder Hyde be that a committe be appointed to as certain what elders are
thus situated and to say whether they are proper ones to go out to
preach,, and that Elder Hyde send such elders as he deems advisable
    Council adjourned a short time,,and then came together
again.. The clerk reported the doings of the Block House
Branch of the church relative to a meeting house, the
Council did not sanction their doings in this matter
