Remarks from elder Hyde, Counsellor J. Bigler presented
an excuse for his absence,also for attending a dance at a
wedding at Wm Niswangers supposed a permit was had from
elder Hyde,, when he learned that brother Niswanger had not
got a permit he called the house to order and told them
and the company dispersed,, his course was sanctioned..
    Bro. John Mangum said that Bro. Niswanger told him
and Valentine Carson that he and brother Birch had a
permit from elder Hyde to dance 48 hours.
   The clerk was ordered to cite William Niswanger and Geo. W. Birch
before the Council for getting up a dance contrary to the advice of
the Council, and for presisting in it after being made acqu
vinted then with the doings of the Council..
    John Mangum, Valentine Carson, and Mitchel Stevens
witnesses.. Some concitating  remark from H. W. Miller,
Geo, Coulson, and J. M. Benson on [====]  forever remarks
of theirs, followed by Elder Hyde..
   Elder Archibald Patten came forward and made
some statements concerning the branch meetings held
in his neighborhood..Elder Hyde moved that bro Patten
submit to the decision of the court that had set on his
case.. Carried unanimously, some remarks from elder
Patten.. On motion the council adjourned two
weeks to meet at 11 ocl. A. M.   E M Greene clerk

up.. Charge read " Lying and getting up a dance contraty to the
advice of the Council,, Prest Hyde a asked Niswanger if he was guilty..

    1st Witness, John Mangum said he was mistaked in his
statement the other day, and it happened in this way he was
with brother Niswanger and also with bro. Adam Stevens
and when he came to talk with the  young men that was
with him at the time he recollected that it was bro, Stevens
who told them about the permit..
   2nd Witness Adam Stevens said that at Bro. Jacob Biglers he heard
bro. Niswanger tell sister Bigler that he had a permit to dance
48 hours for himself and brother Birch,, 24 hours at his house and 24 hours at brother Birches..
