3rd Witness John Stevens corroberated the statement of Adam [====]
on motion of Prest. Hyde Sister Biglers statement was taker in
evidence thro' her husband Counsellor J. Bigler..
4th Witness Sarah Bigler, by her husband Jacob Bigler,
she did not
under stand bro Niswanger as bro. Steven did, but that bro. Niswanger
said he would get a permit..
The Council asked Elder Hyde if bro Niswanger had been
to him for such permit.. Elder Hyde said he did not ask him..
The Counsellor Miller asked Bro. Bigler if bro. Niswanger gave him to
understand that he had a permit..
6th witness J. Bigler said Niswanger gave him to understand
that he went sown to Kanesville to get a permit..
The case submitted to the Council in full,,
Prest. Hyde made some very pertinent remarks, on this case
and its attendant circumstances and incidents,, sugestier that
bro.Niswanger should be disfellowshiped for holding out
false collorings and there by undiceing good breteren to go
adverse to the counsel of the church,, also that brother
Mangum be disfellowshiped for bearing testimony
against a brother when he does not know what he is testifying
also that Adam Stevens be disfellowshiped for getting drunk so that
he could not understand and there be testifying falsely against
his brother.. Remarks from bro. Mangum followed by bro.
Stevens. Remarks from several Counsellors, also from Elder
Hyde,, Bro. Niswanger followed who had acknowledged he had
done wrong,, but would do so no more and aske the Council and
church to forgive him..
On motion bro. Niswanger was forgiven by the Council
and whole house.. Elder Hyde made remarks relative to
order govermment &c. a word of reproff to bro Mangum and
moved that bro. Stevens he forgiven..
Bro. Birch made confession and was forgiven and
his case dismissed..
A long chat between Elder Hyde J.W. Cooley, Cynel Brown,
and Willliam Austin,, considerable feelings between Elder
Hyde and Cooley, conerning the Ceruse Cooley had persued in
his business matters,,, Cooley made some consessions and asked
Elder Hyde forgiveness ,, Elder Hyde said he would visit him
at his mill if all was right there between Cooley and gould
all would be right with him.. Remarks from H.W. Miller & J. C. Snow
and the Council appointed Jacob Baun- a bishop in Carterville with power
to try causes &c, The case of Wm Minenball vs. John Vanwagoner was
called up and refered to the Council of the Branch..

Council adjourned to meet this day two weeks at 10 oclock A. M.
in the upper room of the new hall..
