Sister Barnard further testified that she after wards asked bro.
Woods if the cow was broHill? he said no, she belonged to bro Brigham
and he had engaged him to winter her, and he was able to winter
a cow for bro Brigham
Jacob Myers testified that what bro Brigham had said
was correct and true,
Francis Williams testified the same was true,
B. F. Pendleton testified that the witnesses had told the
truth, and that Woods said the high council was a
Cursid set of fools, and he would be a cursid fool
to give the cow up,
Oliver Strathan testified that the above witnesses had
told the truth.
Jacob Bigler testified that he went to brother
Brigham to enquire if he had given Woods orders,
to keep a stray, and when he came to talk with him
he said he knew nothing about the cow, and
that he place for strays was in the herd ..
brother Wood acknowledged he knew of the letter
authorizing certain certian men to gather all the strays .
brother Miller presented a letter from brother
B. Young,, which sated that he knew nothing about
brother Woods having a stray cow and all he could
say to the Council was to de right.-----
Counselor Coulson then spoke on the case very plain
and pointedly, showing the dishonest principle
manifested by brother Woods..
Counselor Hyde then spoke on the case, pleading
for all the mercy that could be shown the defendant
plaintiff Miller followed in his term,, and showed
that he had sustained the three charges prefered
against brother Woods..
Defendant D. Woods commenced taking and accused the
witnesses of testifying that he knew nothing. some
altercation took place between him and Counselor
Coulson on that point, Counselor Coulson
showing there was no such testimony
