5th witness Atmon Williams.. He heard R. P. Stewart he was ready to
furnish the provisions if Mrs. Glines could go in Franklin
Stewart's waggon.. Says the pioneers started, Ellis Eams
having R. P. Stewart's rifle.. At pawnee town Ellis Eams
changed guns with Glines.. When returned F. Stewart
sent $24. to R. P. Stewart,, $15 to pay R. P.S. for his gun
and $9. for his brothers to bring him some groceries..
He heard F. S. say that was what he sent the money
for.. Said F. Stewart wrote a letter to the same effect.
Says the gun was traded for cattle.. Says F.Stewart
said to his Brother in the letter he might take the
$15. for the rifle if he chose to, or if tho't it better
he might have a share of the cattle when he
came to the Valley.. He heard R. P. Stewart say he was to
take Mrs. Glines to the Valley,, also that Glines was to work
for their mutual interest, heard Glines say the the same
he heard R. P. Stewart say he did not send her for lack of
team.. He bro't the letter from Franklin Stewart to
R. P. Stewart..
6th witness.. A. J. Stewart,, Testified that at a meeting to raise
pioneers, Otho Wells agreed to send a team and waggon
in charge of Bro. Glines, also to furnish a waggon to
carry Mrs. Glines and R. P. Stewart agreed to furnish
her provisions.. Glines returned the first one of the pionee-
rs, and reported the sale of guns for cattle, according to
the above testimony,, with regard the letter sent back &c testified
the same as above.. He did not know that his brother had
ever demanded the money of Glines.. He had asked for
the $9. so as to send on the groceries to his brother..
Said Glines told him he was sent back with a company
to pilot the other company.. Wells did not sent his team
because the company did not get wheat as they agreed
to..
7th witness 6 T. Benson, testifyed that Glines was sent back
because the council could do nothing with him..
