Council met pursuant to adjournment.. Councllors all present but
those who had left for the Valley ( to Wit) Wm Snow, Jas Mc Celelan & H. W. Miller
On motion Jonathan Browning was appointed to fill
the place of Wm
Snow & Jacob Bigler was appointed to fill the place of James Mc Clelan-
C C. Pendleton was also appointed to act in the place of H. W. Miller dur-
ing he absance.. Prayer by J. G. Bigler- Prest Allred impressed on
the minds of the Councellors the necessity of praying for the safe
return of Prest O. Hyde and company.. Councillor G. Coulson read a prioate letter to
himself which was very encourageing- The case between Bro's Gould
& Cooley was then brot up, the parties were called upon to know if they
were ready for trial-Bro Cooley said he lacked a material witness-
Bro. J. Browning was ordained a High Priest under the hands of L.
Stoddard & J.M. Benson- The Council enquired of Bro Gould to know
if it would be any particular detriment to him, to put of the trial some
then or form months.. Bro. Gould said he had suffered loss allready
and wished the trial- Bro. Cooley said that some of his witnesses had
gone to the Valley, and he wanted time to get them depositions-
Some remarks from prest Jas. Allred followed by G. W. Harris, L.
Stoddard, J. M. Benson & others, after various remarks the case was
tho't to be entered upon, when Bro Cooley arose & said that he was entirely
unprepared for an investigation- the case was then put off two weeks.
Bro. E.M. Greene arose & said he had been absent from the
council considerable for the past three months, said it was not from
a wish to not serve the Council or the church but that it was out
of necessity to attend to business that would bring him means to
provide for the necessaries of his family that his mind & spirit was
with the council & that he should attend as steadily as possible &
that he would attend to the recording of their minutes and see
that the record was kept up- His report was satisfactory- Bro. L. Stodd-
ard arose and gave the ====== High Priests some instruction concerning
tything &c. Bro. Archibald Patten arose & said that he had adminis-
tred to a child that was possessed of an Evil Spirit said that in consequence of that administration the Evil Spirit had taken
