Holy Ghost dwells it is impossible to stay his power & influence,
till things shall work to his good, & accuse then to shame. It is
impossible for a man of God to put all things right in his sphere,
but his priesthood requires him to exercise his power and do the
best he can, but when he does not strive, or where there is a chance
to call for council to assist, & if he fails to try this, he will be consi=
=dered not acting in his sphere. Bro Hawes here complained that
his influence is gone, has he managed the things around his own
door, or has he called for Connsels to assist him, here are things, these
little things is what has touched he Hearts of People. The Gold
mind found up here, when we went there we knelt down there
& asked God to bless it, that it should be for the benefit of this people,
and let none have power there that will act on selfish motives
in it. I have good feelings towards Bro Hawes & Bro Woodworth. I
understand the Alpha & Omega of the council of 50. Bro Hawes has
not exerted a good influence in his own town, but comes here and
wants to teach us things that we will have to jump 4 rods to
reach them. Give me your faith & you shall have things as they,
shall come to your edification. I am left in charge & I want to
conduct so as to render my account, that he may say well done
good & faithful servant, &c. Bro Benson said, the remarks are
just what we need, we are not to judge men altogether by their
words, Men shall by judged by their works. Bro R. Miller is a
sample. React the Constitution of the gold mine. Bro clawson
spoke on branch meetings, & made remarks relative to the last
Ball, by Bro Lamb, followed by Presdt Benson. much talk on dancing
