The clerk presented the minutes of the Conference of the
3d& 4th of July, the reading called for, after which it
was voted to record them an the record of the council,,
Voted to lay over the business of the stray herd until this
day 2 weeks. The case of sister Mc Kee and bro Merril was
considered and laid over for 2 weeks
     The case if Richard Man & Jacob Bigler
was then brought up. Council organized on the case
voted that one on a side be sufficenet to speak on the
Case,
bro Man stated that bro Bigler recommended the horse to be
eleven years old and capable of performing a journey and
and that the man who raised him had told him so
but an examination he found him to be older and so
poor that he would not answer him to perform the journey,
brBigler stated that he went to see brMan about the
trade, and that he told bro Man he would trade the horse as he
got him, him know a horses age only as he was told
and that agreed to split 23o for Barnard when called
for, and be traded in order to make some thing by
hauling logs for Hildreth next winter, Mathew Fifield
stated that bro said he believed the honest age of the
horse was eleven years old as the man he had him of
told him so.. Bro Man stated that bro Bigler;
boys had been throwing out that the horse was 40 years
old &c and then presented a written statement from
Charles Kimball stating that the horse looks as well
as he ever saw him look and he has known him for some
time.. Bro Miller stated that he known the horse
for some time, and said he thought there was not
much difference between the horse and oxen
