Counselor S. Richards he would like to have the parties
say what they wanted so the council would know
what to do.. Bro Hendrix said he wanted to have it
settled to day.. Bro Stewart said he had never made
his claim known, and he was not willing to have it
settled by any committee who had given their views
previous, the parties agreed to choose arbitratons
and settle it at house.. Counselor Stoddard remarked
he was not satisfied with the remarks of Bro.
Stewart concerning the committee, concerning their
having passed previous judgement.. Bro Stewart said he wished to be understood that he was not willing to be judged
by any men untill he has a chance to bring in his
claims and present his testimony.. Some instructions
by Counselor Miller on arbitrations, choosing arbitrarors
&c.. The case was then dismissed.. Pres. Jas Allred
said Bro. Blocksom had been to him relative to
some property left by old brother Cragun at his
deseace.. Bro. Blocksom was not present,, Pres.
Allred said there were some horses & cattle left
here by the Indians when they removed from this
section.. Some remarks on this subject,, Counselor
L. Stoddard made some remarks relative to the
case of those horses sold in Missouri,, said the
men had confessed to him previous to the horses
being found,,had now paid for them and wished
to know if there to as any thing more for them to do
to obtain an acquital & salvation,, he said these
were some men who were as deep in the mud
as they were in the mire, who were throwing
it up to then women and wanting to become
their saviors &c..Counselor Wm. Draper moved
that they be acquited and have the privilege
of saving their own women &c Carried..
The inquiry was as made if the witnesses on the
case of Stewart & Hendrix be paid &c..
Council voted that the committe decide that..
