On Saturday the sixth of January AD 1851
Denison L Harris prefered a charge aga -
-inst John Edmiston for killing and making
use of an Ox the property of himself and Willson
Kaines a notice was issued put into the hands
of Samuel Swarner for service he Swarner having
having been previously been cut off or disfellowshiped
by the Quorum ^of High Preasts was put ^{by JG Bigler JP} under oath and
testified as follows  ^{before the Bishops Court}.  When I made known my business
by  Reading the charge his answer was as follows
as near as my memory serves me; he said he would
be God Damed if he would meet before such a tribu-
nal as that becaus he had been before him
Jacob G Bigler J. P. and had the cause removed from
before him as he believed he couldnot get Justice
done before him, and now they may all got to
hell and be damed and kiss his Ass God damm
them, and before I will meet before such a
tribunal as that I will suffer my throat to
be cut from Ear to Ear God dam them, I bade
him goodby and left him, the said John
Edmiston not appearing on the day of trial it
was therefore decided that John Edmiston is
cut off from the C of J C of L D S for contempt
of the Bishops Court
