On January 1^st 1851 Dustin Amy lodged
a charge ^with JG Bigler against
John G. Sasnett accusing him of not paying
him for Houserent according to agreement
also for playing cards for making too
free use of ardent Spirits useing profane
language for spending his money at dram
shops and and for Refusing to give him
possession of his property a notice was
issued for to appear before me at the Tithing-
house third ins^t at six o clock PM to answer
to said charge the plaintiff appeared but
the defendent thinking more of making
music for a gentile Ball than the Bishops
Court as his works showed did not attend
the case was adjourned until Monday the
Sixth at Six PM the parties appearing the
trial was entered into and charge sustaind
deft confessed his faults asked forgiveness
and was forgiven on his promiseing to not
go into the dramshops again in Kanesville,
to not play cards again, to quit the use of
ardent spirits as a Beverage and to be more
cautious in using impropper language and
to comply with the contract between himself
and Bro Amy in Regard to Houserent & c of for
as he was able (G P Stiles witness for plfft in
the course of testimony before the court was found
to be guilty of playing cards at Martins
grocery for liquor consequently was called
on by the Court to make some acknowledge
-ment for the same which was complied with
asked forgiveness and promised to do so no
more and was forgiven) the Court decided
that Bro Sasnett should pay Bro Amy Eight
