Remarks by pres. Alred,, the minutes of the preceeding
council was read.. Remarks from the Pres. relative
to the case of Thurston Simpson.. He them proved
him a thief, and the council voted him cut off
from the Church.. Remarks and excuses for none attendance

Ira Oviatt H . W. Miller Wm Snow, Jeromie Benson in
the place of A. H. Perkins , Jas. M. Dodson in the place
of B. F. Bird.. Prayer by Ira Oviatt,, Pres. Alred
brot up the case of Bro. Henry W.Miller, one of the counselors,
accused of betting in a horse race.. The council gave Bro.
Miller a chance to tell his story of his case..He stated that
on Saturday last he put up ten dollars, for John P. Bearnard ,as
forfeit money o a race pending beween Bearnards colt and
Switser's horse,, he also loaned John Bearnard fifty cents, but
what John did with the money he did not know,, and as
to his betting on a horse race he never has since he belonged
the church.. After some investigation pres. Alred stated it
could be proved that he did bet on a race and the bet
was his &e.. It was then moved to drop Bro. Miller from the
council, fill his place and go into trial.. His place was
filled by Bro. Moses Blows on for the time..
