minutes read and accepted.  The case of brother Jas. Dunn
was called up Bro. Dun was charged with unchristian like talk
about the authorities of the Church of J.C. of L.D.S. - On motion
one was appointed to speak on a side, J.G. Bigler for justice and
C.C. Pendleton for mercy. L.D. Brown testified that bro. Dunn
said his son Crandle was in England, humbuging or deceive-
ing the people there with Mormonism.

Edwin Holden testified that bro. Dunn said at a prayer meeting
he was as much a Cutlerite as a Mormon.
Joseph Skeenes testified that brother Dunn stated relative to a decission
of bro. S. Stoddard's decission concerning a settlement between
him and his daughterinlaw, "that he would not believe bro. Stoddard if under oath.
David Cauflland [Canfalaud?] testified that brother Dunn asked Lootte
why he kept a mormon clerk in his store, said he would not deal with them, he had much rather deal with a gentile.

Graham Testified he heard bro. Dunn say he was not a mormon because wheat did not grow in answer to his prayer.
said he was not born under the right planet that that
his sons were &c

Counsellor J.G. BIgler said the cause was evidently sustained
as the testimony clearly set forth; said he has no fellowship
with a man that would talk as bro. Dunn had done, or who
would take sides with the gentiles against his brethren.

Counsellor C.C. Pendleton said he saw no grounds to make a plea, and
thought bro. Dunn should make a confession, but wished the
counsel to remember that bro. Dunn was an old man and
thought some mercy should be extended.  Bro. Dunn acknowleged
nearly all that was testified against him "he had said many things
to get favors of the merchants &c " said the time had been when
he could say - he knew this was the work of God, and he was as firm
in the faith as ever but confessed he did not attend to his duty

Prest Allred said bro Dunn was possessed of a bad spirit made
some appropriate remarks, and gave decision that James Dunn be cut
off from the church.  The council ratified the decission by a unanim-
ous vote, as also by all present..  On motion James Dunn was given two weeks to make satisfaction to his branch and if he did so was to be restored to fellowship.
