[260] (230) Kanesville Dec 7th AD 1850Kanesville Council met persuant to adjournment, prayer by Lyman
Stoddard Presant, Jas Allred, W.W,. Lene, Geo. W. Harris. J.G. Bigler, Ira Oviatt
Geo. Coulson, L. Stoddard, Jacob Bigler, C.C. Penolseton. the minutes of Nov 23rd
read and acupted, J.M. Benson, came in Prest Jas Allred said if there is
iniquity among the branches it is best to nip it in the bud.. Prest
O Hyde came in ,, Prest. Allred asked him, if he had any business to present
to the Council. Prest. Hyde said there was a matter he thought, probably,
it might be better to have a rehearing on (Counselor Browning came in)
Prest Hyde spake of the authority of the council, said there was an appeal from
the council to the Apostle ship.. asked what more authority has the
"First Presidency, than the Apostleship;" none but what we gave them"
therefor they have the Presidency, and we acknowledge their Authority,
and honor it: Bro, Coulson was then called upon to give a statement
of the evidence and decision had on the care of Martin L Benson and
Josiah Wright Oct. 12. 1850, which he did very correctly - Brother Benson
and Wright Spake fully on the subject, as also the council, all had
liberty to experss their feelings in regard to it, and to give light on
the case to Prest Hyde, and after some very appropriate remarks from
him, he said he believed that the council had acted good faith,
and had done right, and he sanctiond their decision:
J. G. Bigler then reported the conduct of Brother Isaac Beebee
in Regard to his contempt to the bishop's court Dec. 5, 1850 at the tithing
house in Kanesville in a matter of deal between himself and Jacob
Bigler and W.W. Lane bishop, and also his abusive language about Prest
Hyde and the High C ouncil " Motioned by Ira Oviatt, and seconded by
Geo. W. Harris that Isaac Beebee be cut off from the Church of Jesus for
contempt shown the bishops court and for abusive language towards
the authorities of the Church ' carried unanimously. by the
Council and all present in the house "
Council adjourned to meet this day two weeks at 11 oclock A.M.

Ira Oviatt, Lyman Stoddard, C.C. Pendleton, J.M. Benson, W.W.
Lane J. Browning = Geo. Coulson had gone north to look a loation
for the poor, Noah S Bulkley sick J. Bigler off Heerding.
The last meetings minutes read and accepted.
Prest Allred spoke on the law of tithing. J.M. Benson spoke
relative to the present order of appointments amoung the bishop
Their reporting the standing of the branches foillowed by Lyman
Stoddard showing the inconsistency of the same as understood by the […] Prest Allred J.W. Harris
and others spoke on the same subject correcting the understanding and
showing that there is but one ordained, biship in Pottawattamie.
Counsellor L. Stoddard their reported the Coonsville, Branch, J.G. Coons
President of said branch, has not done his duty, and is dealing in
Spiritious Liquiors; also the Pony creek branch, reported by Thos McKenxie;
he did not hold meetings but came togehter to play cards & also Old Agency
