Kanesville Nov. 4 - Abt 1845
The High Council met pursuant to adjourment
at the house of Hiram Clarks..
Pres. of the counselor Wm Snow , Ira Oviatt,
Geo. Coulson N. S. Bulkley, Moses Clawson, L. Stoddard,
Geo. W. Harris Hiram Clark Silas Richards, & H. W. Miller
Bishop Joseph Knights,, James Allred having
returned, took his place in the council and opened
by prayer.. The read the minutes of the two proceeding councils.. Pres. Geo. A. Smith presented a letter
from his Bro. in the Valley.. It was read by the
clerk.. Pres. Wm Snow proposed that now Bro.. O Hyde
was with us, we ask him to decied whether in app-
aled cased, the former defendant, being the appealor
he then becomes the plantif,, Bro. Hyde said it
was no matter which was plantif or which was
defendant, truth was what we were after all the
time.. We did not want to build ourselves by any
precedent.. It is good to keep a history, but let
the spirit of God, and the mind of this council
be the precedent every time.. After some remarks,
the council voted to receive Bro. Hyde instructions..
Pres. O Hyde then presented the case of Oliver
Cowdery who had lately come up to the Bluffs
and desired to be received back into the church,
Made some remarks on this subject, said it was
rumored that Phinehas H. Young has secretly
Baptized him, and his mind was that he come before
the public, make known his feelings, and be baptized,
openly.. Bro Geo. A. Smith spake on the subject, and
gave a history of their meeting with Oliver Cowdery..

Bro. Geo A. Smith gave a history of Oliver and his falling away from the church.
Remarks, several,,, Council voted that Bro Snow
