Counselor Couslon reported the proceedings of
the Committee to select a location for the poor, which
was accepted; and the Committee counseled to continue
their labor to secure the best locations in Pottawatamie
lying north of the settlements. Counselor J. Browning offered
his excuse for not being present at the hour appointed which
was accepted. on motion the Council adjourned untill
this day 2 weeks at 11 oclock A. M.

Met of the Counselors persuant to adjournment , Jas. Allred
W.W. Lane Geo. W. Harris, J.Browning , J. G. Bigler, Ira Oviatt, Geo.
Coulson, C. C. Pendleton, J. M. Benson.
E.M. Greene clerk who had been absent since the
17th of Sept. on a visit to the cast, reported himself, took his
seat and kept the minutes. Prayer by J.M. Benson.
Prest Jas. Allred after some remarks moved that brother
John Killian fill the place of Noah S. Bulkely deceased,
untill Prest O Hyde return. Carried unanimously:
also moved by Jas. Allred that Z. Coltrin fill the place of Jacob
Bigler who was gone away, for the day, carried.
Counsellor J. G. Bigler read the proceeding minutes,, some
remarks respecting the minutes, by J. M. Benson and Prest
Jas. Allred, and the were accepted.
Counselor J. G. Bigler, spake relative to the associations of the
bethren , in evening meetings for plays instead of prayers. Counsellors
Geo. W. Harris,, Jas Allred, Geo Coulson, J. G. Bigler, L Stoddard, C. C. Pendleton
J. M. Benson, Z. Coltrin and J. Browning spake on the subject.
Geo, W. Harris moved to drop this subject where we found it.
L. Stoddard said he was unwilling to drop it untill the people hear
the minds of the Council united, and I for one do not approbate it.
Geo. Coulson moved that this High Council do not sanction any promiscous
associations or meetings of the bethren not dictated by the Priesthood
