The fore part of the day was taken up in listening
to A.M. Babbitt and replying to his enflamatory Political speeches.
Counsellor Geo. Coulson said his character had been assailed
by A. W, Babbitt made some very spirited remarks, and
exhorted the Saints to guard against division either religion
or polities=The case of Gould ( vs.) Cooley was then called up
Bro. Cooley said he had called on the clerk for a transcript of the
former trial, & the clerk refered him to the Council- said he
should take an appeal to the Presidency in the Valley- The Council
decided that he was not entitled to an appeal as he had not complied
and that no appeal should be granted until Cooley did complied
with their decession- that were equeal partners in that property-
and that no appeal should be granted untill Cooley did comply
with that decession as Gould had been unlawfully dispossessed
by Cooley= Remarks from several of the Counsellors on different
subjects= The council adjourned 2 weeks 10 oclock A. M.-
