go individually & immediately after they vote at the Polls, and
assist in having it done. It was then required by Elder Hyde
that a report be made at the opening of Conference, of the names
of the respective branches of this Church, in this section of country,
& the number of individuals in each branch. The meeting was
then adjourned until the 2nd Sabbath in May next, in consequence of the adjournment of the general Conference, which is to be held
at or near Bensons Mill on the first Sunday in May next, & the
congregation was dismissed by Elder Hyde.

Sunday May 13th 1849. The quorum of High Priests met at the
public meeting ground north of the Tabernacle,at ten oclock a. m.
Elders O. Hyde & E. T. Benson present, after singing a Hymn, and
prayer by W. Snow the Presdof the quorum, the meeting was given
over as a general meeting, for instructions from the twelve & that
after the meeting should be concluded, the quorum would meet
at the School house to transact business, when after singing & prayer
& teachings & instructions from the 12. the quorum met, & after
singing & prayer, the minutes of the former meetings up to and
including the 7th may 1848, were read & approved of. The case of
George Thompson was then brought up, & it was moved, seconded,
& carried unanimously that the Ordination to the High Priesthood
heretofore conferred upon him be confirmed upon him by Elder
Stoddard. Samuel [---------] of Council Point & Rufus Fisher of blockhouse branch were
received into the quorum. Daniel Carter, Reuben Miller, Paushall
Terry Lyman Stevens, Samuel Gully & Gideon Allen to have recom=
=mends. After the usual recommendations Bartholomew Marhony
& Jared Starr were ordained to the high priesthood under the hands
of Elders Lyman Stoddard & Aaron Johnson, & received into this
quorum. The meeting was adjourned until Sunday June 3rd/ next

& closed by prayer by Aaron Johnson one of the Councillors of the
president of this quorum.
