Kanesville Iowa June 21 A. D. 1851 High Council minutes..
   Present of the Councillors Geo. W. Harris, Jacob Bigler, C.C. Pendleton, B. B Messenger J. C. Snow G. Coulson, Harrison Cutler..
    Prest O Hyde came in no business being before the
Council.. Prest. Hyde requested of the Council the privelige of a party
in honor of Judge Brocchus & chief clerk A. Canington==to 11 oclock
D. R. Williams came in.. On motion of Prest. Geo. W. Harris a vote was
taken to give the privilege that was granted to the Council carried by a
majority, was opposed by Geo. Coulson, some remarks from
Coulson Prest. Geo. W. Harris and Prest. O. Hyde followed on the same
subject and then proposed a time for fasting and prayers, and
he as Prest of the stake and the High Council, and on  Friday the
27th inst they appointed for that  purpose.. The other vote was recinded
and the privilege granted to the Branch to hold a party and it
was left to Prest O. Hyde to appoint the managers=.. The clerk
read the former minutes, and they were accepted..=
   Remarks from Councillor Coulson on the propriety of what is best
for such persons ad were starters and then provisions were spoiling
and not fit for the trip and the cause that brings the floods &c.
and then moved that the exsperssion of this Council should be
that all should be to all such as have made preparations to
to go west and now fails; to west north and place themselves
under the direction of the Presiding Bishop &c. Carried..
   On motion the Council adjourned 2 weeks at 10 oclock
