Present of said council J. Morley, J. Alred,
G. W. Harris, P. Richards, J.H. Hale, H. W. Miller,
H. Hyde, & C Rogers
Prest. Morley made some remarks relative
to a letter from the first presidency concerning
the money from the soldiers, the letter was
read by the clerk as follows ( to wit)
Recommending to the brethren the propriety of letting
their monies remain in the hands of those
agents who were appointed by the battalion
to receive their monies also lay out these
monies in a general purpose of such
goods, groceries, and provisions as were
necessary for the benefit of the camp in
general also recommending the propriety
of putting up a horse mill for the benefit
of the brethren this winter, also the purpose
of a set of burr stories and mill rows
and apperates to take over the mountains
in the spring, after laying these before
the brethren remarked that the council had
taken these things into consideration and
believed it the greatest exepedient that
could be entered into and would result
in the greatest good to the whole body.
Counselors Harris, Alred, Hale, Miller and
Richards all followed in their time and
should clearing the propriety of such a
course reasoning with much wisdom and discretion upon the subjects.
