High Council met persuant to adjournment,
Councillors all present. Cout Pres. O Hyde also present
Prayer by N.S. Balkley.  The fomer minutes read by
the clerk [SR?]Campbell. The minutes were accepted.
[…]the clerk […] five or ten on appeal case from
before Bishop A. Johnson which case was presented with
out the ^a transcript, and Bishop Johnson said it was not
customary for bishops to ²¹³ to keep take testimonies in
writing.  an inqury opened by Councillor Harris. ²¹³ if it is
not the Duty of the bishop to take testimony, some remarks  
by Pres.  Allred followed by Pres. O. Hyde who thot it a
a great task for the Bishop to keep minutes &c and tho't some
means should be devised to pay in such cases &c and
the council should drop technicalities, and not stop to establish
li, a precedent. &c The case was between Jacob Bigler, and
Reuben P. Hartwell.  Bro. J. Bigler made his statement
of the contract between him and Bro. R.  P. Hartwell said that bro. Hartwell came to see him to buy an ox of his

take ten dollars, and Bro.  Hartwell proposed to give […]

After the witneSses hade given their testimony some
altrication about the interested parties giving their
testimony and reference was had to the Book of covnants
(See 5 per 9)

R. P. Hartwell arose and stated that he found after the
