go to the Valley but he had said to some not to go, till they
were ready &c.. Bro. Able Evans arose and said he had told
him that it was a time of famine for the want of beening the word
of the Lord, that Brigham Young did not have the word of the Lord
that the going to the Valley was a scattering and not a
gathering &c. Bro. Little said there were those that would
come before the Council & testify that Prest. Harris had given
such advice &c.. Prest Harris gave a short history of his
coming from Nauvoo & said he did consider it a time of famine
&c. he did consider Brigham Young the rightful Prest. of the church
& he was his friend &c. and if they want to have a trial with
him he wished a regular charge made out was let him
have a copy of it &c.
Prest O.Hyde made some remarks relative to a famine &c.
said he knew Bro. Harris feelings he even felt to bring it forward
but he felt that it was right that the Council could make such
inquires &c- Prest. Harris wished the clerk to be particular in keeping
his minutes; also wanted a copy of the charge..
Prest. O. H. said he tho't it would be wisdom to give a
little time that Bro. Little might make out the charge
and papers and let Bro. Harris have time to examine and
consider them &c. and moved that the Council adjourn till
next saturday to consider it &c..
Bro. Harris wished the clerk to read his Patriarchal Blessing
&c. & the revelation given Dec. 1833 on the building up & getting of Zion-
Prest E. T. Benson spake relative to the case and related what
Bro, L. Zalriskie & the course of Prest. Harris &c. Prest. Harris was
badly injuried in feelings and kept breaking in upon bro-
Benson while he was talking &c.
Prest. Geo. W. Harris arose & replyed- said he never asked
for any office in this church- but he did not wish to be [====] out &c.
Prest. O. Hyde spake relative to the revelation above refered
to &c. moved that the Council adjourn 1 week to meet at the
same home 11 oclock to investigate the above subject-- Carried
