all was attended with good order & harmony with
but one exception which was a party got up
contray to this Council at Boswicks where
a [===========] brought in some Whiskey which
considerable confussion & disorder but an [=======]
had been taken in this case relative to the
parties concerned. Council Stoddard made
other remarks with respect to Dancing
Schools, and the contracts made by its parties
Patrons with Br Brim, thought as the water
was running so high if again we shut the
gates to sudden there would be a burst some
where as enquiry was made of the clerk when
he thought the Exhibition would come off
Wednesday week and since the petition
was presented Praying for their Ball he thought
2 weeks would be time enough to shut down
the gate. Similar remarks were made by
Council Biglar. Council Snow objected to the
Dancing Master taking others in and having
a Dance after the time of the School
closing. He said he thought it was time to
attend to our farms, and let the Dancing edge
off but thought that the Petition should be
be granted.------------------------------------------------
Prest Allred spoke of the benefit attending the
Dancing at Council Point. The meetings on
Sunday had been much better attended since the
Dancing season commenced.-----------------------------
Prest O Hyde came into the Council and the
second reading of the Petition was called for, which
was read by the clerk.--------------------------------
Prest Hyde said that during the term of the
Dancing School there should be some reining
in thought that the Dancing might continue
to the close of the month. He would urge upon
