esplination respecting a certain letter written by O. Cowdery to
David Whitmer. Elder Geo W. Harris remarked,that as O. Cowdery
wished to come into the Church as an humble member, no action
should by now taken upon that letter. Geo A. Smith stated some
things respecting the letter, also that O. Cowdery, does not wish to come
in flying colours & place himself at the head, but an humble mem=
=ber, & I am not afraid of his overturning the Church, but he will
have opportunity to bear testimony & act in other things. Doctor Geo
Coulson said, O. Cowdery is humble, acknowledging the powers and
Authorities now in the Church, & his conduct since being cut off, is
not to by brought in question,as he did not impeach the right and
Authority of the present Authorities of the Church O.   Cowdery then
exlplained. Philo Dibble said he wished the Church to receive O. Edy.
Phineas Young also spoke t the same effect. Elder O. Hyde then said.
I am satisfied myself, & wish the people to be so. It was then carried
by vote, that all past transactions by forgotten, & that O. Cowdery
be received into this Church by Baptism. After singing, meeting
was adjourned until the first Sunday in Dect. next, & the congre=
=gation dismissed as usual.

Sunday Dect 3rd 1848. In consequence pf the severity of the
Weather there were but few of the high Priests quorum
assembled,
The President being absent, there was not any quorum business
done, but Elder O. Hyde preached to the congregation present.
& the meeting of the quorum stood adjourned until the first
Sabbath in January next, at the usual time and place.

Sunday Jany 7th 1848. The High Priests quorum convened,
the congregation was called to order by Wm Snow the Presdt, at
12 oclock. O. Hyde, & Ezra T/ Benson, both of the quorum of 12,/
were present. Sung'';Come let us anew''. Prayer by O. Hyde.
