The High Council met persuant to adjournment, all
present but Browning, Miller and Cutler, the Prest called
to order meeting opened with prayer by Able Evans, No 5,
The clerk read the minutes-- accepted--
Prest Geo. W. Harris introduced the case of T. D. Graham and
Bro. Graham being present came forward and made
his statement, after which the clerk made his statement
relative to the course taken by Downs to obtained the mar-
riage license, â–¬ Councillor Coulson asked some questions, and
was followed by Councillor J. C. Snow,,(11 oclock J. Browning came
in) made his excuse and was accepted..) Councillor B. B. Messenger. [?Barnum Blake Messinger?]
made some remarks on Graham's case, ( 11 oclock Jacob Bigler
came in made his excuse and was accepted,,) Councillor
D. R. Williams made some remarks relative to Bro. Graham,
and was followed by Councillor A. Evans,, Bro. Graham made
some remarks, was followed by Councillor C. C. Pendleton,,
and Jacob Baum.. Councillor Geo. Coulson said he could
not agree with all the statements of the Bros. Councillors neither
could he believe all that Bro. Graham had said, and after
reasoning upon the subject showing the power that a
priest of the Most high had, or by right ought to have
to save his child and to keep the devil at Bay
and the weakening his power to save his child, he
then sugested that Bro. Graham for his own benefit now
lay down his Priest Hood with this Council untill he learn
wisdom and how to hold it and whence to look for wisdom,
was followed by remarks from Councillor Bigler, some
questions by Councillor Cutler, followed by remarks from
Councillor Evans,, Councillor J. C. Snow asked if a man was
not fit to hold the Priest Hood if he was fit to have a standing
in the Church- Prest Harris said he was not,, Councillor Coulson
said he tho't different, the Priest Hood was to govern, that which was
not Priest hood- The letter killeth, the Spirit giveth life &c.
